Kusina at iba pa! is a repository
of famous and unique Filipino and Filipinized recipes. The conceptualization
for Kusina at iba pa! started with Jovel Cipriano, founder of Pinoydelikasi,
an Filipino delicacy store. Visitors of Pinoydelikasi.com frequently ask
for Filipino recipes, like sinigang and adobo, that they can use at home
for parties, gatherings, and other special occasions. He was initially
able to offer 15 native recipes to his regular customers.
In Dumaguete at a mini-IT conference, he met Rae Pedrosa, developer and
designer for Negros On-Line, with his wife, Naomi, a cook in one of Dumaguete's
famous restaurants. Jovel proposed the idea of creating an on-line, searchable
database of Filipino Recipes. It was at this moment that the first version
of Kusina at iba pa! was born. Originally called Lutong Pinoy, the website
was launched on Negros On-Line's servers for beta testing and refining.
Lutong Pinoy had an initial 15 searcheable recipes on its list, now it
has a total of 53 recipes and growing. Kusina at iba pa! can rightfully
call itself the Premier Filipino Recipe Portal, with relevant information
about Filipino cooking. Tips are available on basic to advanced methods
of preparation, execution and presentation of dishes.
We hope that you may stay
with us and watch us grow as we bring to you the finest recipes of the
Philippines.
